Service engine code SPN 5743 FMI 9
Got a engine light over the weekend, thanks to Spartan problem resolved. The code was SPN 5743 and SPN 5742. The issue was that the sensors for the before and after the DPF were being checked to often. What was causing the issue was the wiring harness in the engine bay on the right hand side were pinched to tightly with wire ties causing incorrect readings. I cut the wire ties and retied them differently. Issue solved no engine light now.

Love those simple fixes and thanks for sharing that code number if anybody in the future is searching for the fix. How many mile on the MH before that code was thrown?

Less than 3000 miles on the coach. Went to move it to get fuel and the light came on. I'm glad it was a simple fix as well. Spartan confirmed this morning " That protective loom was routed too tight, should not be bent / pinched like that."
I guess things like shouldn't happen, but face it these things are built on a assembly line and "STUFF" does happen.

Just got this today at 15K miles. SPN 5742 and 5743. Anyone know where to look on a K3?

Those are spartan numbers. In my experience, you need to translate those Spartan numbers to Cummin's numbers. if you call Spartan, they will do the translation and also read to you what is in their book. I am told that the Spartan App on an iPhone accesses all of that data, and at one time, you could google the Cummins equivalent numbers and read what Cummins has to say about them. If you have the Cummins number, their description and diagnostic information is pretty impressive.
Sorry, no direct experience with those codes myself.... sorry.

Bob, those codes are temperature sensor related in the diesel particulate filter & SCR. I had those come up last summer and took it to Cummins shop, they checked it out and couldn't find anything wrong with the sensors so they reset the codes and told me to bring it back if they came up again. I haven't had any more problems. Hope yours is the same way.
You can get the code information from the Spartan app.

I did research the codes - for DPF and SCR sensors being updated too frequently. The OP showed a pinched wire loom as the culprit on his Aspire. I was wondering where the analog for the Cornerstone is.

On today's journey the check engine light did not stay lit. My guess is that it is one of those errors that resets itself after X number of ignition switch cycles.
I emailed Spartan - they said take it to Cummins.

I have had more "weird" codes come up then go away in the past few months that Charlie Fisher @ Spartan told me to take it to Cummins in Ocala to have the computer upgrades done including the Spartan flash. That is the closest Cummins/Spartan shop to me able to do the upgrades. It's 4.5 hours but on my way to Entegra this summer.
I have had so many check engine yellow lights, I don't even worry about them anymore. Sooner or later they go away. When they go red, I guess I will panic then. I need upgrade......bad!

This is the first light I've had in 15 K miles. Happened on a very bumpy road in the north-most part of Texas (AKA Oklahoma panhandle), (they don't maintain their roads like we Texans do).
