Good evening MAL forums, are you ready to rev up your engines? I sure am. I want to know what your dream car is. Do you have multiple dream cars? Maybe you don't have a dream car, a car at all, or you despise them outright; in that case, what do you use for transportation?

I'll be blunt, I have two dream cars, and one is more obtainable than the other. My first dream car is any Lexus Sedan, but preferably one from its IS series, and preferably from its second generation. To be honest, I just find these cars to be beautiful and the ideal daily driver. They just look so comfortable and easy to drive, so I'd absolutely want one of these as my first car. I also just love the look of the mid-2000s era cars that Toyota and Lexus were pumping out during this time. Can't explain why. Good thing for me is that they're cheap and relatively common around where I live, so this might be a dream car that I can obtain soon.

What's Your Dream Car? (2)

Now, my less obtainable dream car is actually a Buick Grand National. Completely different type of car from a Lexus, but the Grand National is just an insane piece of American muscle and it was the top of its class during its time in the 1980s. Literally, at one point, The GNX version of the Grand National was the second fastest car in the world behind Lamborghini's Countauch. I love the look of the car's body shape along with the all-black color scheme. This would be a fun car to go to the track with or drive around on the streets with. But, that's probably not going to happen unless I can someday afford one. They're quite hard to come by now.

What's Your Dream Car? (3)

So MAL, what's your dream car?

A toyota corolla. I am not adventurous, I just like reliability, and these cars are built to last, so I'd like a few backups. *Sweats*

On the other hand, whatever the most reliable BMW is. Is it the 2024 BMW X3? I am going with this.

@PeripheralVision Put a gun to my head and make me choose between a Corolla and the fastest BMW, and every time I'm choosing the Corolla. Not even because BMWs are bad cars, they are, but I just love driving the Toyota Corolla. You are absolutely right about their reliability though, the older generation Corollas can literally live forever provided that you treat it with respect.

Suzuki hustler or the mini Cooper with a tuned up engine or a vintage Volkswagen beetle or Porsche with an modern interior and engine..
I have Toyota supra but I don't even use it much, only to get groceries..
The supra for a sports car offers a lot of trunk space..

I am old school my favorite cars are the ones I wanted back in the day, but I was too young to have them. And now 30/35 years later are "classic"

I am talking about the first gen Lexus LS 400. And the Cadillac Allanté. If I have to go with my ultimate dream car it's the Caddy Allanté, what a beautiful car!

When talking about current cars my two favorite ones are the Evoque and the Panamera.

I own one of each. The Evoque is the family car and the Panamera is my work car.

Me every time I hear the word "reparations": 🤣🤣🤣

This right here:

What's Your Dream Car? (41)

1969 Ford Mustang. Preferably with the 428 CJ (Cobra Jet) engine, but I'd also take the 390 FE engine as well. My dad was a muscle car guy (he had a 1969 Pontiac GTO with the 455 V8 in it) & I am as well.

For something completely insane though, it'd be this:

What's Your Dream Car? (42)

Shelby Cobra 427. Got pictures of one of these up close & personal at a car show + got to hear it run (was a real 427 Cobra, not a replica like the Factory Five Mark IV). That engine was so nice & those pipes are insane

Pfffft I think the Lexus is a boring car. They blend into traffic. If they were rare and unique they would be okay but nah.
I have an AMC Eagle, 1981, which was repainted a few years ago. This site won't let me post from Facebook so I can't show you it. It's a beautiful car and people always smile at it when I drive it. It is the second one I owned. I guess the other car I'd dream to have was a Trabant, the East German car which I loved since I was a little kid (they were famous suddenly on TV when the wall came down) I saw one for sale when I bought the Eagle, for almost the same price- and th reason I didn't buy the Trabbi was stupid- I was scared I'd get run over in my city's crazy traffic!

Anyway, for the Buick GN I'd suggest just buying a silver or black Buick Regal from 1982-87. It's the same car, I know 80s cars pretty well, and my dad worked for GM in the 80s and did some QC for Buick division. Grand National was just a trim package and I can GUARANTEE YOU that all of them are fakes; painted black by the owner with decals stuck on so they can get a higher price on ebay/Bids/Bring A Trailer or whatever. Total scam.
But you can't fake a normal Regal. Throw a Grand National license plate on the front and everyone will think it's a GN anyway.

The only thing I require from a vehicle is to safely get me from point A to point B. I'll gladly use a smooth-riding Toyota Camry or whatever.

But if I were to abandon reality and select a true dream car, it would be the Lamborghini Egoista. Only one was ever made, and it's worth $117 million.

I like the design of classic cars but for something I'd actually want to drive my tastes are more eccentric because I don't feel comfortable with how normal cars are designed or comfortable with driving and I dont have a license because of this.

@KamijouToumaIB
Doesnt the Ford Mustang have folding second row seats though so you actually have more than what it says for trunk space?

I had my "dream cars" before, and my passion for cars evaporated pretty quickly after having to deal with repairs and importing hard-to-find car parts from overseas.
I had a 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT (AKA Mitsubishi GTO) and a 1999 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. I sold them recently as I was just fed up with them breaking down due to their age.

As for modern cars? I dislike their aesthetics very much. I could never love a modern car.

Something like my current car (~10 year old Toyota Corolla), but with better dashboard controls, meaning no touchscreen, or at least a touchscreen that actually works supplemented by proper buttons. I had a crappy first car, so I learned that lesson, can't imagine needing something more than functional heat/AC, good mileage, and a coolant system that doesn't leak and break down in the drive-thru at McDonald's at 2 AM. Although, it would be painful to have to go without bluetooth, though I guess that's probably standard these days. But I'd miss not having a CD player too.

My true dream would be to live somewhere with great public transit, so I never have to drive near any of you people ever again xD
