Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

Special Recipes page 2 (11)

Do you have enough room.....to eat this all up! Easy to make and fun to eat.
Graham Crackers, apple slices, grapes, and alphabet cereal.

ABC-Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (by amynjesse.com)

Special Recipes page 2 (14)

Make the alphabet for snack time! Slice a banana into 21 sections, and then find something else, like celery or perhaps apples or graham crackers, to use for your vowels. Next, find a plastic bag, snip off a tiny piece of the corner, and fill with several tablespoons of peanut butter.
Before piping the letters onto each space, work the peanut butter around in the bag using your fingers until it softens a bit. It will come out much easier that way.
Before eating, here are a few things you can do with your child:
a. Ask him to point to the first letter in his name.
b. Ask her to spell her name by pointing to each letter.
c. Ask him which letter makes the sound __(fill in the blank)___.
d. Point out the vowels and explain that there is a vowel in every English word. ("Y" is also used as a vowel in certain cases)
e. Use your imagination.
Kids will love this tasty alphabet snack!

Peeps Mania!

Peep & Fruit Kabobs, Peep Smores & Peeps on a straw (by the frugalgirls.com)

Silly Cinnabunnies ( bettycrocker.com)

Special Recipes page 2 (20)

Prep Time 15 min Total Time 45 min Servings 4
Ingredients
1 can (12.4 oz) Pillsbury® Grands!® Cinnamon Rolls with Icing
12 raisins, for decorating
8 sliced almonds, for decorating
Coarse sugar or sprinkles
Start by removing the cinnamon rolls from the package. Place 4 cinnamon rolls on large lightly greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Unroll remaining 4 cinnamon rolls and place on cookie sheet touching one of the coiled cinnamon rolls and folding ends under to create the floppy bunny ears. Pinch the dough to secure the ears to the bunny head. 2 Firmly press 3 raisins on top of each roll to form the eyes and nose and the almonds for the teeth. 3 Bake according to package directions. 4 Cool completely, frost and decorate the ears.
Expert Tips
The bunnies will puff up as they cook so make sure to press the raisins into the dough and slide one end of the nut into the dough as well so they will stay secure as they bake.
Be sure to also secure the ears well by pinching the dough together near the head with your fingers.
They are supposed to look silly so don’t stress about making them too perfect.

Snowman

Special Recipes page 2 (31)

What You’ll Need:
1 sandwich
3 Tootsie Rolls
1 Starburst (any color)

To Make Snowman Sandwich: ( I used white bread instead)
Make any sandwich you like. Use several different sized cups to cut circles out of your sandwich. (I used a vitamin bottle for the smallest circle.) Unwrap a Tootsie Roll, place back on the wrapper, and microwave it for 5–8 seconds until soft — not melted! Mold into a boot. Repeat. Soften third Tootsie Roll the same way. Pinch off pieces and roll into balls for the buttons and eyes, then form a mouth with the rest. Unwrap Starburst and place back on wrapper. Pinch off a small piece and shape it into a triangle for the nose. Stretch the remaining Starburst into a scarf. Arrange on plate and enjoy!

Snowman Sandwich (by anotherlunch.com)

Special Recipes page 2 (32)

The "body" of the snowman was made with just a plain little circle cookie cutter. I had planned to use an actual snowman shaped cutter, but I couldn't find it! The face is made with icing eyes, a candy corn (I looked through the bag to find one missing the white tip!), and a fruit leather smile. The buttons on the snowman are from a candy bracelet (or use fruit loops) and the scarf is a strip of sour candy. I tried to fringe the ends, but I don't think you can really tell. All this candy is leftover from Halloween. I don't toss it out until after we are done decorating our gingerbread house(s) and gingerbread men. So that scarf candy was a bit on the stale side and not very pliable. It didn't want to lay down flat, so I stuck a little bow bento pick in it to hold it down. The hat is from the same pack of winter hat cupcake picks I used on the

snowman egg fellow

(purchased from an online baking supply store), I just stuck it into the middle of the sandwich. The rest of the candy pieces are "glued" on with tiny dabs of peanut butter. :) Oh! I almost forgot - the stick arms are almond-chocolate Pocky! Yum!

Snail Hot Dog

Special Recipes page 2 (57)

Pigs in a Snail Shell
Hot Dogs
1 Pkg of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1 Slice of Provolone (or any white cheese
Raisins
Pretzel Sticks
Heat the oven to 375. Open the hot dog and cut slices close together leaving the edge uncut on half of the hot dog. Open your crescents & cut the triangles in 3 strips. Take the 3 strips and press them together at the ends forming a long strip. Start wrapping the hot dog with the croissant strip in the middle of the hot dog working down the cut side. Bend the covered hot dog around to the center (this is why you cut the slits). Take the extra crescent strip and wrap around the middle of the hot dog to secure. Then wrap it around the top forming a spiral circle (to look like a shell). This will all be done using that same long croissant strip. If you do not have enough on your strip..just do the same with other crescents and press together.
Bake for 10 - 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
We made the eyes by cutting small circles from white cheese and cut a raisin in half for the pupils. We broke the ends of pretzel sticks to make the antennas.

Fishing For Goldfish

Special Recipes page 2 (59)

Another fun snack is "Fishing for Goldfish" ( or whatever shape I have. There are dolphins, whales, sharks, etc) I usually use the large pretzelsrods but it depends on the age of your children. Smaller is less of a choking hazard.
I’m not sure where I first saw this one, but my kids have loved it for years.
You put pretzels (the straight kind), goldfish crackers, and a bit of peanut butter on a plate.
The kids eat the snack by “fishing.” They dip the end of a pretzel in the peanut butter and then catch a goldfish by sticking the peanut butter end to it. It makes for a quick, fun, and fairly healthy snack that they will love.

Fishy Snack (by Canandianfamily.com)

Special Recipes page 2 (67)

What you’ll need:
• 1 orange
• A handful of blueberries
• 1 strawberry
• 1 baby carrot
• Icing eyes—if you don’t have any, you could use blueberries for the eyes
• A sharp knife
Directions:
1. Slice your orange into thin slices. Place some orange slices on your plate. My kids love peeling the rind off the orange. If your kids don’t like that, you can always peel the orange first before slicing it.
2. Place an icing eye on each slice of orange for an eye. If you don’t have any, you can give your fishie a blueberry eye instead.
3. Using your knife, slice some little mouths out of the strawberry. Place these little mouths on your fishies.
4. Using your knife, slice your baby carrot into thin slices. Place two slices on each fishie for a fish tail.
5. Finally, add some blueberry fish bubbles to the plate.
This is a perfect, refreshing snack for little ones. They’re going to love it!

Octopus Hot Dogs (by preschoolsnacks)

Special Recipes page 2 (75)

What you'll need:
Hot Dogs,
Water,
Ketchup,
Goldfish Crackers.
Cut the end (leaving about an inch or so uncut) of a hot dog in half, turn and cut in half again making four pieces (or 4 long legs), cut each of those 'legs' in half making 8 legs. Place the cut hot dog into a pot of boiling water. The hot dog will cook and as it does it usually turns up-side-down and opens up. It is done when the legs curl up. Take it out and let it cool a bit on a paper towel. Place on a plate and add ketchup eyes and goldfish around to decorate.
